Target Population
The PALO program is designed to target independent, motivated K-12 students who might also be:
seeking to accelerate course work in terms of pace or difficulty
gifted students seeking enriched coursework
seeking college credit in high school
enrolled in the school district of residence, taking traditional courses, but wishing to enroll concurrently at PALO for courses not available from the local school district
at risk of failure in a traditional setting and seeking an alternative placement.
pregnant or parenting.
employed for portions of the day, wishing to pursue studies after traditional school hours
homebound for short term or long term illnesses
homeless
incarcerated
diagnosed as school phobic
homebound because of suspension or expulsion
home schooled
victimized by peers in a traditional school setting
in need of alternative educational programs or services
